Position Purpose:
As part of a busy transport team, our Service Drivers are responsible for collecting, destroying, moving, and unloading confidential waste paper and electronic storage devices for various clients in the professional, financial, and retail industries. Service Drivers are the face of Shred-it at client locations, and their performance must be professional, confidential, courteous, and environmentally conscious.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work a 40-hour week over 4 days, serving as a key customer contact point.
* Arrive punctually, dressed in uniform, and clock in at the start of each shift.
* Check routing plans and complete vehicle inspections daily.
* Obtain necessary documentation and ensure timely departure from the yard.
* Park the vehicle properly, record arrival times, and greet clients courteously.
* Remove confidential material securely, explain certificates of destruction, and record completion times.
* Unload or park vehicles following branch procedures and participate in debriefings.
* Record any changes or notes on the Driver's Information Sheet and complete end-of-shift procedures.
Qualifications:
* Preferred GCSE education or equivalent.
* Valid LGV HGV C Category driving license, current drivers CPC, and digital tachograph.
* Experience in driving or customer-facing roles is advantageous.
* Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
* Conscientious, trustworthy, and flexible with a positive attitude.
* Ability to read and write clearly in English and understand customer instructions.
* Security and safety process compliance experience is preferred.
