Client Name: NHS Wales Role : Band 5 Rates : Competitive rates of pay Shifts : Various shift patterns to suit WNA Healthcare are looking for General Band 5 Nurses to work in Wales. The ideal candidate(s) must have at least 1 year previous UK hospital experience within the last 2 years. They will be working with nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals in a busy environment. General key skills In addition to your qualifications, as a Band 5 Nurse, you will have: quick thinking abilities patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations excellent attention to detail a methodical approach to tasks excellent timekeeping the ability to work well and under pressure empathy and understanding a flexible attitude a desire to learn and improve active listening skills the ability to use a computer competently Nurse duties and responsibilities Nurses often play a significant role in preparing patients for treatments and sharing knowledge about health and lifestyle changes. Their main duties and responsibilities include: Motivating patients to help restore and improve their health and self-esteem Providing medication to patients and providing pre- and post-operation care Providing psychological and physical support to parents, family members and friends Identifying patient care requirements Assuring the quality of care to patients through adhering to therapeutic standards Ensuring that patients and fellow employees adhere to infection control policies and protocols, medicine storage and administration procedures and substance control regulations Evaluating patients who complain of specific aliments.
