Role Description / Criteria
At Emmaus we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. The applicant will believe in growing the whole child - spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically. This teaching role is ideal for applicants who are risk takers, creative, open to new learning and eager to share their knowledge and pedagogy with others as part of a collaborative team. Our staff has significantly advanced our instructional practice by applying the Science of Learning and explicit instruction to engage students effectively. We have been recognised as a school who has strategically implemented the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement. At Emmaus, teachers receive strong support in implementing this evidence-informed approach through substantial investments in professional development and instructional coaching. Our calm and orderly environment is conducive to a safe environment encouraging optimal learning. Full time teachers at Emmaus, engage in four days of face to face teaching and participate in one day of facilitated and personal planning a week. Successful applicants will join a vibrant, supportive team and a dynamic school community. In addition, successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
* commitment to the Catholic Ethos, the principles of Catholic teaching and an ability to live the school's vision and culture
* commitment to the Emmaus Child Safe Policy and the MACS Code of Conduct (both can be found on our website)
Special Requirements
* accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or a commitment to obtain accreditation
* current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration
* Please include 3 referees - two of which being your most recent principals
