Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal at IVC Evidensia

Salary up to £65,000 DOE, plus Relocation Allowance up to £5,000.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a small animal vet to join our friendly and supportive team at MBM Vets. We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and motivated vet to fill this role, and in return we offer great support, exciting career development and a healthy work-life balance. Shifts are a mixture of consult-only, surgery and consultations or hospital work. We expect all of our vets to be confident with consultations, routine surgery and in-patient care; however we would happily accommodate anyone wishing for a consult-only role.

You will mainly be based at our Kilmarnock branch, but shifts at our Mauchline and Beith branches may be required. 15-minute consultations are standard, with 30 minutes for new patients, bandage changes or trickier cases.

Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that works around your lifestyle. Ideally, up to 40 hours per week across 4 or 5 days with a 1:3 Saturday rota (8:00am-1:00pm) and no OOH. We are also a VetsNow OOH host practice, meaning that patients requiring 24-hour hospitalisation can be kept in-house.

About MBM Vets
MBM Veterinary Group is a large, friendly, long-established practice, close to the Ayrshire coast with convenient road and rail links to Glasgow and central Scotland. We have practices in Kilmarnock, Mauchline, and Beith, covering a wide area within Ayrshire. The area provides an excellent base for outdoor pursuits and a range of services for small animals, large animals, and equine work.

We have the usual diagnostic and treatment capabilities in-house, including digital and dental radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, ECG, laboratory facilities, and dedicated lab support for rapid work-ups. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care and maintaining strong relationships with referral partners for more complex cases.

Our team and culture
Our small animal team across three branches comprises about 20 Vets (full and part-time), including a cardiology certificate holder and colleagues pursuing certificates in surgery and medicine, plus a core group of proud general practitioners. We also have 16 full and part-time Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Animal Nursing Assistants, and 8 Reception team members. We focus on compassionate care and high-quality service for our clients and patients.
