Energy & Utilities Infrastructure Engineer - Associate / Associate Director (Development)
WSP invites applications for this role. The position is based in the UK and involves leading utility projects for a variety of development types.
About the Development Team
The Development team specialises in sustainable infrastructure solutions from planning to implementation. We advise on utilities supplies, diversions, highways, public realm, sewerage, SUDS, building drainage, earthworks and flood protection for diverse developments.
Job Summary
As a Senior Member of the Utilities Team, you will lead engagement with clients on technical utilities matters, manage multidisciplinary project teams and provide innovative solutions across concept to delivery stages.
Responsibilities
* Lead a wide variety of utility projects from local schemes to national significance.
* Manage project delivery within multidisciplinary teams in the UK and internationally.
* Provide senior point of contact for the Development team and key clients.
* Drive business growth with existing clients and develop new relationships.
* Help deliver complex schemes to the highest standards, on budget and programme.
* Mentor and develop staff.
* Provide high quality, commercially aware project management and problem‑solving.
Qualifications & Experience
* Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
* Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
* Experience delivering utility connections, diversions, and infrastructure strategies for small, medium and large UK schemes.
* Solid understanding of electricity, gas, water and telecommunications networks.
* Experience with Multi‑Utility / iDNO / ICP and commercial risk/opportunities.
* Ability to develop utility demand calculations for developments.
* Proven team‑leadership and concurrent project management skills.
* Excellent communication skills for professional engagement.
* Experience directing BIM teams in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.
* Proven client‑relationship development skills.
* Must obtain UK "Security Check (SC)" vetting.
