Are you a creative English Teacher ready to join a rapidly improving school that puts student potential first? This could be your ideal role!

We are seeking a passionate and creative English Teacher to join one of our secondary schools in Birmingham. We need someone who has a genuine, contagious enthusiasm for literature, language, and writing that truly inspires students.

We\'re looking for a teacher who can:

* Manage the Classroom: Facilitate lively, text-based discussions while maintaining an orderly and focused learning environment.

The School and Its Journey

This is an exciting time to join a dynamic school community that has recently secured its first-ever \'Good\' Ofsted rating. They are part of a supportive Multi-Academy Trust and operate under the motto of seeing the child\'s potential and making it a reality.

The school\'s distinct culture is built on sets of virtues:

* Culture & Progress: They successfully implemented Moral Virtues (like Kindness and Integrity) to transform behaviour and are now focused on Intellectual Virtues (like Curiosity and Tenacity) to accelerate academic progress.

* Community: Students are strongly encouraged to take pride in their image and foster a strong sense of community belonging.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the professional duties of a teacher under the direction of the Head of English, focusing on both academic achievement and pastoral care.

Core Teaching & Planning:

* Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (where applicable), ensuring full curriculum coverage.

* Assessment & Feedback: Set, mark, and provide timely, constructive written and verbal feedback to actively move student learning forward.

* Differentiation: Adapt resources and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with SEND and high-achieving students.

* Literacy Promotion: Actively champion high standards of literacy and promote a genuine love of reading among all pupils.

Department & Pastoral Contribution:

* Data & Progress: Monitor and track student attainment, intervening promptly where necessary.

* Collaboration: Participate actively in departmental meetings, training, and whole-school professional development (CPD).

* Extracurricular: Contribute to the school\'s enrichment program, potentially running clubs related to debating or creative writing.

* Form Tutor: Serve as a dedicated Form Tutor, overseeing the academic, emotional, and social development of your students.

* Safeguarding: Adhere strictly to all policies related to safeguarding and child protection.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

* The necessary qualifications for this role (QTS or equivalent).

* Experience teaching English to a high standard.

* An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.

* The legal right to work in the UK.
