Length of employment: Job Summary: UK Strategic Command (UKStratCom) comprises of Defence Intelligence, Special Forces, Joint Force Development, Joint Medical Group, Defence Digital, Permanent Joint Headquarters and Chief of Staff with permanent bases both in the UK and overseas. In a fast-paced environment you would be a pivotal member in a highly capable team supporting delivery of infrastructure to support Defence capability. The UKStratCom Infrastructure Team acts as the focal point between HLBs and end-users on the one hand, and DIO and Fin Mil Cap on the other, to prioritise Strategic Command infrastructure requirements and work towards their timely delivery. Requirements/Delivery Managers are a pivotal part of the UKStratCom Infra Team and lead capital project and programme activity for a geographically disparate and complex portfolio to support capability. Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time the wider organisation, are/will be subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. These changes may be minor or could be more substantive and will generate new opportunities.Throughout, the Command's transformation programme is committed to following the MOD's framework on managing and supporting people through the change process and places an emphasis on early and open consultation and engagement with the Command's personnel and Trade Unions. Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for activities required to deliver the programme of works for their Area of Responsibility from definition through to handover and closeout for each of the Projects. Person specific The post holder will be able to build professional relationships, working collaboratively with partners and cross-functional project teams. You can learn quickly, work independently, proactively tackle problems, and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. On appointment the successful applicant will be expected to attain UK Security - Developed Vetting. Travelling for this post will be essential with overnight stays. A driving licence is essential. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Primary Responsibilities: The Requirements/Delivery Manager objectives include but are not limited to: Manage projects using DIO Capital Projects Process/ Forward Approval Plan (FAP) and Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan (CIDP) Coordinating/developing Business Cases and other supporting documentation (including Review/Information Notes) Programme and project governance(approvals and financial processes) Provide advice and guidance for site and HLB Infra Teams Work with other UK StratCom Infra teams in support of wider MoD outputs and future activities. Stakeholder management Attending site meetings on location as required URD production Undertake TSP Tender Evaluation and Moderation and review DIO's client specs/ associated documents for project Support to Regional Delivery Training, Learning and CPD This recruitment process will consist of two parts: 1. Whilst technology may help to enhance your written submission, presenting the ideas of others or those generated by technology, could result in your application being rejected. Behaviours are assessed individually with a 250-word statement. The application form will indicate which behaviour is being assessed. We are looking for evidence using the Situation, Task, Action, Result (STAR) methodology. It is highly recommended you focus by providing one example for each behaviour. We would also advise you to use examples that best meet the criteria, even if they are a few years old, using the STAR methodology. Situation : Briefly describe the background of the situation in which you found yourself. Task : What you were required to do/chose to do. Action: What actions you undertook to achieve the tasks. Make sure to use "I", not "we" to explain how your actions led to results. Result : Use facts and evidence to demonstrate the results that your actions produced. Explain whether it was a successful outcome, and if not, what you learned from the experience. Please make sure you have consulted the HM Government 'Success Profiles - Civil Service Behaviours' document (available on Gov.uk) to ensure you have understood the relevant Behaviours for the appropriate grade. 7. Your experience will be assessed individually through your CV and a 500 word Statement of Suitability (Personal Statement).
