Job Description
Raymarine, a division of Teledyne, is a world leader in the design of state-of-the-art marine electronics products. Our extensive range includes Sailing Instruments, Chartplotter displays, high-end Sonar, and Radar, all utilizing cutting-edge technology. In this role, you will be an integral part of the product development team, supporting testing to inform, verify, and validate design directions. You will collaborate closely with the team, applying sound engineering principles to design and interpret tests. You will also design test equipment using CAD tools for manufacturing, working with both in-house resources and external suppliers.
This position is suitable for someone with an excellent eye for detail, an inquisitive nature, and a passion for working in a dynamic environment, especially with products related to water and marine settings.
Your responsibilities include:
* Ensuring completion of the Verification and Validation test plan in accordance with project requirements.
* Owning the test plan schedule, conducting testing throughout development, and documenting results.
* Proposing improvements based on test outcomes.
* Designing CAD data and drawings for test equipment manufacturing.
* Collaborating with design, environmental testing, reliability engineers, and project managers.
* Participating in project meetings, peer reviews, and DFMEAs.
* Supporting non-project testing needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
* BSc/BEng in Mechanical Design Engineering or related field.
* Experience with measurement and data logging equipment in testing environments.
* Knowledge of Design for Quality techniques and tools.
* Understanding of design/testing for harsh environments, including sealing, corrosion, and vibration.
* Proficiency with SolidWorks.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Strong organizational and time management abilities.
* Willingness to work onsite five days a week.
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
