Main Duties
* Take operational responsibility for service delivery across the Emergency Medicine speciality.
* Work closely with the Directorate Manager and Clinical Director to identify and deliver sustainable solutions to meet tier one access targets and provide high‑quality, cost‑effective planned care services.
* Identify and implement areas of opportunity for service improvement and development.
* Provide strong visible leadership within the multidisciplinary team to drive ambitious targets and continually improve performance.
* Support all team members with operational expertise and management support, ensuring an efficient and sustainable secretarial and administration workforce.
* Coach and give clear direction to achieve the UHB’s vision.
* Co‑ordinate project and performance improvement work as part of the Medicine Clinical Board.

* Experienced in producing high quality project documentation including Business Cases and Project Plans
* Ability to prepare and deliver high quality presentations to a wide range of grades and disciplines
* Articulate and professional in dealing with UHB Managers, Clinicians and external organisations
* Proficient in producing literature supporting large IM&T projects using known methodologies
* Welsh language skills 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
Specialist Knowledge
* Comprehensive knowledge of NHS IT systems.
* Extensive knowledge of IT systems including PMS, BIS and Clinical Portal.

* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Persuasive and a good negotiator.
* Ability to lead and work well in a team environment, but able to work on own initiative.
* Highly motivated and able to work to deadlines.
* Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Degree plus Postgraduate Diploma level education or equivalent management qualifications or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.
* Evidence of continued learning/personal development in relevant field.
* Degree or professional equivalent.
* Previous experience of leading IT related projects.
Experience
* Experience of leading a team and managing staff.
* Experience of change management and proven track record in service improvement.
* Experience in consultation and negotiation.
* Experience in managing IT projects.
* Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and MS Project.
* Experience/knowledge of working within the NHS or related organisation in a management role.
* Experienced in managing Benefits Realisation to maximise investment in IM&T.
