Financial Accounting Manager

As a direct result of the group’s expansion plans and continued success, we are seeking to appoint a Financial Accounting Manager to join our Finance Department in our Plymouth based Head Office.
This is a high-impact role suited to a technically strong and commercially aware finance professional. You will support the Senior Financial Accounting Manager and CFO in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with statutory and tax obligations, and driving process improvements across the finance function.
Responsibilities:
1. ·Prepare group and company financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP.
2. Support the group’s audit and tax affairs, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
3. Manage statutory obligations including Corporation Tax, VAT, import duty, Transfer Pricing, and Intrastat.
4. Advise senior leadership on changes in financial regulation and taxation, assessing impact on the business.
5. Assist in the production and review of monthly management accounts.
6. Assist in the forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling of the business.
7. Provide insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
8. Collaborate with the Finance Manager to modernize and streamline financial processes.
9. Act as a finance business partner to key departments, promoting financial awareness and accountability.
10. Manage lease accounting software and liaise with the property team to ensure accurate lease records and compliance with accounting standards.
Person Specification:
Essential
11. Professional qualification: CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent, with 1-2 years PQE
12. Proven experience in preparing financial statements and supporting consolidations.
13. Strong understanding of financial systems and process implementation.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
15. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
16. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with accuracy.
Desirable
17. Experience with lease accounting and property finance.
18. Exposure to fast-paced, high-growth environments.
19. Familiarity with financial software and automation tools.
