We are seeking to recruit a full-time therapy assistant to join our vibrant team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working with Renal and frailty ward patients at Hammersmith Hospital.
Role Responsibilities
1. Assist qualified therapy staff in delivering patient care, assessments, and treatments, including individual and group sessions.
2. Perform delegated tasks such as rehabilitating patients through mobilization, practicing activities of daily living, supervising exercise programs, and discharge planning.
3. Screen patients and oversee departmental equipment stock.
4. Undertake administrative and practical tasks like ordering equipment, cleaning equipment after use, preparing resources, and assisting with referrals.
5. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and relatives to gather information as directed.
6. Handle sensitive situations with patients and carers experiencing high anxiety, frustration, or aggression.
7. Achieve Care Certificate competencies within six months of employment.
8. Develop clinical and non-clinical skills through a work-based development program.
9. Maintain accurate patient records in line with legal and professional standards.

Candidate Profile
We seek an enthusiastic and skilled therapy assistant with initiative and the ability to work autonomously. Previous experience in a similar role at B3 level is desirable but not essential.
