Role Description A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property Solicitor specialising in Landlord and Tenant work to join a fast growing and highly regarded Solicitors firm in Ormskirk, working nationally. This role is ideal for an ambitious Solicitor seeking a fantastic growth opportunity within a supportive, modern, and forward-thinking firm. The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, with PQE of betweenNQ3 years. Working alongside and reporting to the Head of Legal to deliver specialist work on behalf of Landlords, having interest and experience in litigious property work is essential. You will join a collaborative team made up of both qualified and non-qualified fee earners, Business Development, Commercial Lead and support staff. In this position, the Solicitor will take ownership of a diverse caseload of Residential Tenancy matters, from giving legal advice, exercising specific legal services, leading and managing litigation, and managing files independently from instruction through to completion under suitable supervision by the Head of Legal. The role will be a mixture of office based and court-based work, including attending hearings, organising counsel, and taking cases through to fully defended Trials where necessary. Ability and willingness to travel is advantageous. A Solicitor with a keen eye for detail and one that holds themselves to high standards in terms of their drafting and communication is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple deadlines and case load priority. The ability to coach and provide direction to junior members of the team will also be necessary. The office, based in Ormskirk, is easily commutable from most areas across Merseyside, West Lancashire, Preston and western parts of Greater Manchester. Work is predominantly office based, but flexibility will be given around travel for Court work as required. Qualifications Degree, minimum 2:1, with appropriate LPC or SQE route to being fully qualified and on the Roll of Solicitors. Demonstrable experience in legal document drafting for County Court Claims. Demonstrable experience in managing County Court Claims through from filing to completion. Working knowledge of the relevant parts of the Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocols. Working knowledge of relevant housing legislation. Experience of County Court advocacy advantageous. Experience in working with and instructing Counsel advantageous. Attention to detail and organisational skills essential. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and willing to take on leadership and delegation of small matters within the junior team. Remuneration The package on offer is: Ideally 35 hour per week role over 5 days, but candidates seeking between 21 and 35 hours will be considered. A salary between £32,000 and £42,000 based on a 35-hour week. Salary offered will depend on the individuals experience. Employer pension contribution, if required. 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising to 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays after 2 years of service. Bonus scheme of up to 15% of your basic salary dependent on meeting personal and company targets. Bonus scheme becomes applicable after successful completion of the probation period.
