Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts and Audit Manager to join their dynamic team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience within a busy accountancy firm, having worked closely with clients across multiple sectors. This role is perfect for a professional used to a fast-paced client delivery environment, who has proven themselves to be a strong communicator and effective in collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality audit and accountancy services.
- Oversee and review the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of auditors and accountants, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and develop audit plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain and build strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for client queries and issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of audit reports and financial statements.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive financial advice to clients.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting and audit regulations and ensure the firm’s practices remain compliant.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the firm’s audit and accounts department.
Requirements
If you can:
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the full audit cycle; planning, fieldwork, and completion.
- Prepare and review year-end statutory accounts, with an understanding of FRS 102.
- Supervise and coach a team across both audit and account functions.
- Build lasting client relationships.
- Research and identify client accountancy issues; with the ability to hold meaningful conversations with clients and colleagues regarding the rules and regulations of doing business in the UK.
And be:
- CA or ACCA qualified.
- Knowledgeable of WIP (Work In Progress) and fee targets.
- Highly proficient in completing audit cycles with solid experience in preparing accounts under FRS 102.
- Forward-thinking with a drive for continuous improvement.
- A leader who takes pride in developing a team.
