Busikids Day Nursery and Pre school is a friendly, independant, 72 place Day Nursery caring for children from babies to 5years old and are now looking for the right person join our team.*Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated Cook or Chef to join our team at Busikids. This role involves preparing nutritious meals for children in our care, ensuring food safety standards are met, and supporting our mission to promote healthy eating habits. The position offers 30 hours per week in a welcoming environment focused on early childhood development.*Responsibilities*
* Prepare and cook healthy meals tailored to children's dietary needs.
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed.
* Manage kitchen inventory and order supplies as needed.
* Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary requirements.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
* Support the overall well-being of children through nutritious meal planning.
* Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling.
* Contribute to creating a positive dining experience for children.
* *Qualifications*
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare or similar setting.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills.
* Flexibility to adapt meal plans based on children's needs.
* Previous kitchen or culinary experience is highly desirable.
* Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.

The children have snack at 10am and full hot lunch and pudding for midday. They then have a very light snack at 2 and tea and pudding at 4pm.
This role is 30 hours a week, between 8.30 and 4.30 with 1 hour for lunch. Exact hours are negotiable. You will have the help of an experienced assistant in the kitchen also.
