To support our continued growth, we’re looking for a New Broker Development Manager to help expand our network of high-quality energy brokers. In this role, you will proactively identify, engage, and onboard new brokers, ensuring they receive exceptional support throughout their early journey with OnlineDIRECT. You will play a crucial part in growing our broker network across both SME and Bespoke channels, using a consultative and strategic approach to build, strong, lasting relationships.
We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in the energy industry, whether in lead generation, new business sales or broker onboarding. The ideal candidate will bring a consultative sales approach, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and have experience managing or coaching a small team to high performance.
Role Highlights:
* Execute a structured approach in line with the business strategy to identifying and onboarding new brokers aligned to OnlineDIRECT’s growth priorities
* Support and coach a small account management team focused on developing emerging broker relationships.
* Be accountable for individual and team-level acquisition targets and KPIs.
* Provide new brokers with exceptional service, guidance, and education on our systems, services, and operational processes
* Promote the full suite of OnlineDIRECT services (e.g., water, metering, waste, analytics), identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities during onboarding
* Identify broker businesses that may lack operational capability to succeed independently and support transitions conversations to our Partnerships team
* Collaborate with Compliance and Operations to ensure smooth, standard compliant onboarding
* Capture competitive intelligence and broker feedback to inform business strategy and service innovation.
* Be a visible ambassador of OnlineDIRECT, representing our brand and values in every interaction.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in B2B energy/utility sales, lead generation or broker onboarding
* A consultative sales approach with strong relationship building skills
* Experience managing or coaching a small team to high performance.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Confident communicator with the ability to educate and influence stakeholders.
* Self-motivated, results-driven, and commercially aware.
* Excellent attention to detail, CRM experience, and Microsoft Office proficiency (especially Excel).
* Resilient, adaptable, and capable of working under pressure.
* Strategic thinker ideally with commercial awareness of the UK energy broker landscape.
* Strong LinkedIn presence and comfortable networking at industry events (highly desirable)
