Digital Content Creator – Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team
Position in Athena Sports Group – Portsmouth, UK (Full-time)
Athena Sports Group, led by Sir Ben Ainslie, is driven by sport, innovation, sustainability, impact and legacy. It comprises Athena Racing, Emirates GBR SailGP Team, Athena Pathway Programme, and the 1851 Trust.
This full‑time role is based in our Portsmouth office and involves regular international travel. You will join our Marketing Communications team, mainly focusing on the Emirates GBR SailGP Team while supporting the Athena Pathway Programme, Athena Racing and the 1851 Trust.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce, capture, edit, and publish high‑quality video, photography, graphic, and written content that reflects the teams' tone of voice and visual identity.
* Write engaging copy for web, email, and blog content – optimised for SEO.
* Develop and manage a strategic content calendar aligned with the wider communications strategy.
* Lead social media content planning and delivery across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
* Produce both short‑form copy for social media and long‑form copy for website and editorial features.
* Track and analyse engagement metrics to continually improve content performance.
* Collaborate closely with the Commercial & Partnerships team to create sponsor content.
* Stay up to date with trends in social media, storytelling, and digital innovation.
* Manage media assets, including photo and video labelling, cataloguing, and maintenance of the team’s media library.
* 3+ years’ experience in content creation, social media, or digital marketing.
* High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or equivalent); familiarity with After Effects, CapCut, Blender or other motion design tools is a strong advantage.
* Motion graphics skills, or a strong desire to develop them.
* Exceptional storytelling, copywriting, and visual communication skills.
* Proven editing experience with examples of completed projects.
* Experience in both video and photographic capture.
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
* Experience in sports media capture – sailing knowledge not essential.
