What You'll Do:
As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired at Birch Agency, your role will be both rewarding and impactful. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting functional vision and learning media assessments
* Interpreting eye medical reports in relation to educational settings
* Contributing to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
* Recommending specialized evaluations, including low vision and orientation and mobility assessments
* Consulting with diagnosticians, classroom teachers, students, and parents on evaluations and modifications
* Providing Braille instruction to enhance learning opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A Master’s degree from an accredited institution
* A valid state license or certification as an Education Specialist in Visual Impairments
* Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school environment, particularly those with special needs
