Booth Welsh has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Instrument Engineer to join our team! You will assist in projects across industries such as Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical, and Nuclear.
As a key member of our engineering team, we are looking for a talented individual with a wide range of professional skills. The role requires managing multiple projects while ensuring deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work on both project and proposal phases.
* Execute projects across all phases, including Concept Studies, FEED, and Detailed Design.
* Develop Instrument Engineering deliverables, reporting to the Instrument Engineering Manager.
* Assist in developing internal procedures, work instructions, and guidance notes for compliance and efficiency.
* Support the development of junior Engineers.
* Bring 8+ years of experience as an Instrument Engineer in the Process sector.
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status (preferred but not essential).
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred but not essential).
* Experience leading the Instrument discipline on various project sizes.
* Ability to prepare man-hour estimates for Instrument scopes.
* Experience controlling budgets and schedules for Instrument activities.
* Proficient in specification, technical bid analysis, and requisitioning of instrumentation and analyzers.
* Experience in selecting and specifying control system hardware (PLC, DCS, SIS).
* Knowledge of Instrument requirements for mechanical packages.
* Experience with Functional Safety, including BS EN 61511, Safety Management Plans, Safety Reviews, SRS/SIL Calculations, and validation activities.
* Experience with exSILentia for SIL Calculations (preferred but not essential).
* TUV or similar Functional Safety Engineer qualification.
* Ability to work with hazardous area designs.
* CompEx Ex12 qualification (preferred but not essential).
* Experience in Control Panel Design, including CE assessment/testing, ATEX certification, and FAT (preferable).
