As a PCB Layout Technical Assistant at EMS, you will support the full PCB design lifecycle—from approved schematic to the generation of production-ready data packs across conceptual, prototypical and production designs. You will collaborate closely with engineers across disciplines to produce layouts and maintain design data that meet demanding electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability standards. This role is suited to a technically capable and detail-focused individual looking to grow within a high-integrity engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Support the creation of PCB layouts using Altium Designer, based on signed-off schematics Liaise with electronics engineers to ensure layout intent matches functional requirements Carry out placement, routing, and design rule checks under engineering guidance Prepare and maintain detailed manufacturing data packs (e.g., Gerbers, BOMs, pick-and-place files) Manage PCB library components and ensure alignment with project standards Support those communicating with manufacturers and assemblers to clarify production requirements Assist in maintaining design documentation and supporting continuous process improvement Assist in the Engineering change management and configuration control of PCB design data Support Continuous Improvement of PCB design processes following Kaisen Principles Essential What You Will Need: Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Familiarity with PCB layout tools, ideally Altium Designer Strong attention to detail and methodical working style Good communication skills and a collaborative approach Desirable Prior experience producing PCB layouts for real-world products Knowledge of IPC 2221 or other layout and fabrication standards Awareness of design lifecycle processes and configuration control Experience working with external manufacturers or CEMs Familiarity with additional design tools (e.g., Zuken Cadstar) Understanding of DFM principles and basic layout constraints Why Join Us?
