Overview
A leading Building Control and Fire Safety provider offering expert, client-focused services across the UK is seeking a highly experienced Principal Fire Safety Consultant to join our growing team. This is a remote position with travel required across England and Wales, offering the opportunity to work on diverse projects while maintaining flexibility and independence.
Responsibilities
* Take a lead role in delivering high-quality fire safety strategies and consultancy services.
* Provide expert guidance to clients on complex fire safety matters, ensuring full compliance with the latest legislation and building regulations.
* Developing and reviewing fire safety strategies across a wide variety of projects
* Applying in-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Approved Document B, and wider fire safety legislation
* Conducting compartmentation inspections and advising on remedial works
* Occasionally undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and compliance checks
* Collaborating with clients, design teams, and internal colleagues to ensure robust fire safety compliance
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong working knowledge of current legislation, including the Building Safety Act and Approved Document B
* Background in Fire Safety, Surveying, Building Control
* Relevant degree such as Fire Engineering, Building Surveying, Building Control
* Demonstrable experience in fire safety strategy development and compartmentation inspections
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence at a senior level
* Flexibility to travel throughout England and Wales
