Overview
MGroup Transport (Aviation) are seeking a talented CAD Manager to join our Survey team. Primarily supporting our Aviation, Defence and Adjacent Markets sectors covering projects around the Southeast and Midlands.
What you’ll be doing
The Survey team provides technical services to a range of construction related disciplines, including invaluable support to our divisional teams and departments within design and construction phases of projects. This role is based at our Heathrow Office and is suitable for existing CAD Managers or experienced CAD operators looking to progress their career. You’ll support Project and Site Managers with CAD technical expertise, manage and develop a small CAD team, and create various types of drawings for civil and infrastructure projects. You will provide high‑standard CAD drawings, models, documents and work reports to MGroup and clients, ensure workflows run smoothly, follow standard CAD processes, review outputs for quality-controlled documentation, track performance and manage CAD software.
Responsibilities
* Support Project and Site Managers with CAD technical expertise.
* Manage and develop a small CAD team in the creation of drawings for civil and infrastructure projects.
* Produce high-quality CAD drawings, models, documents and work reports for internal and client use.
* Ensure workflow efficiency and adherence to standard CAD processes.
* Review outputs for quality-controlled documentation and track performance.
* Manage CAD software and keep up to date with industry standards.
* Train, mentor and guide CAD technicians and newcomers to the survey team.
* Share knowledge and coach team members to improve team performance.
* Keep up to date with legislation and current industry trends.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of delivered products and processes.
What you’ll bring
* Expert user of Autodesk Suite of products, including 3D modelling.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret technical information and drawings onto CAD platforms.
* Ability to manage work efficiently across multiple projects.
* Good communication skills and ability to work with teams at all levels, including client liaison.
* Strong data management and quality control.
* Will prepare survey reports containing sufficient information, conclusions and recommendations.
* Contribute to improvement of delivered products and processing quality by identifying opportunities.
* Full UK driving licence.
* 5 years of traceable employment.
* Understanding of PAS128 requirements and other industry standards.
* Experience in analysis of GPR data and using GPR post-processing software (external training can be provided).
* Understanding of BIM practices.
* Previous experience in a management role.
* Experience working within the utilities, engineering and aviation sectors.
