SEN Teacher – Maternity Cover (Full Time)
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full time, Maternity Cover (September start)
We are currently working with a specialist primary SEN provision in Bury who are looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and supportive school environment, working with pupils who have a range of additional needs including Autism, communication needs and moderate learning difficulties. The school is known for its structured approach, strong staff support and focus on individualised learning.
The Role
You will take responsibility for a class within the school, delivering tailored lessons that meet the needs of pupils who require a more personalised and supportive approach to learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
* Creating a structured and engaging classroom environment
* Supporting pupils’ academic progress as well as social and emotional development
* Managing behaviour in a calm, consistent and supportive manner
* Working closely with Teaching Assistants and SEN staff
* Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Have experience working with SEN pupils (primary experience preferred)
* Be confident adapting lessons to meet individual needs
* Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Be reliable and committed to a full-time role from September
