West Dunbartonshire HSCP is seeking a passionate and skilled Social Worker to join our Fostering Service within the Children & Families team. Within this role you will play a vital role in both the assessment and support of local foster carers to ensure the best outcomes for care experienced children and young people.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a trauma-informed, relationship-based service that puts children’s rights and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers and contribute to panel presentations
- Provide ongoing supervision, support, and training to foster carers
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to match children with suitable foster carers
- Contribute to care planning and permanence decisions
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and The Promise Scotland
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for Children’s Hearings and Court
