How You'll Make a Difference
As a Community Meals Driver, you will be part of a dedicated team who provide a vital service to a range of customers throughout South Gloucestershire. You will deliver nutritious meals to members of the community who may not be able to cook independently.
What You Will Be Doing
Working on your own, you will have a regular round of delivering meals within the community. This provides an opportunity for you to get to know your customers and build relationships.
You will be able to navigate your way around the South Gloucestershire area confidently to deliver meals in a timely manner.
What We Need From You
You will be driving throughout the authority and surrounding area, so you must have a full, valid driving licence and a knowledge of South Gloucestershire.
You must be comfortable working independently and have strong communication skills and confidence when interacting with people.
It is essential that you are an independent thinker and can make decisions, knowing when to escalate any concerns.
You will enjoy working at pace and be able to balance your schedule with the needs of your customers.
What You Need To Know
Community meals is an all year-round service including Christmas and Bank holidays.
You will be required to work one weekend in four, the shifts are: 10:45am - 14:15pm.
There is a Sunday enhancement allowance of time and a half.
Your salary is pro-rated to hours worked.
Your uniform will be provided.
We will offer food hygiene and allergen training if required.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
Interviews will be held week commencing 23rd March 2026.
