Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and creative Games Design Tutor to join a dynamic college in East London on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to support and inspire learners pursuing qualifications in Games Design, Development, and related digital creative disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching and tutorial support across Games Design courses (e.g., BTEC, UAL, or other creative digital qualifications)
* Plan engaging, practical, and interactive sessions aligned with curriculum and industry standards
* Support learners in developing skills in areas such as game mechanics, level design, storytelling, and interactive media
* Provide guidance on relevant software and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite)
* Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student projects and coursework
* Monitor learner progress and provide targeted one-to-one or small group support where required
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
* Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
* Support learners in progressing to employment, apprenticeships, or higher education in games and creative industries
Requirements
* Relevant qualification in Games Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field (Degree preferred)
* Teaching or tutoring qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
* Experience supporting or teaching Games Design or a related subject in a Further Education or similar setting
* Strong knowledge of games development tools and industry practices
* Excellent communication, organisational, and mentoring skills
* Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
