We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Adult Continence Band 6 Registered Nurse to join our Adult Continence Service. This is an excellent development opportunity, with a structured pathway and mentorship to progress into a Band 6 Continence Nurse role.
Based at The Orbital, Swindon, you will have the flexibility to work within a team that supports both on-site and hybrid working arrangements, depending on the role. HCRG Care Group is committed to fostering an agile and adaptable workforce to meet the needs of our organization and service users.
The post-holder will provide high-quality, evidence-based assessment and management of adults with bladder and bowel dysfunction, promoting continence and dignity.
This role suits a nurse with strong interpersonal skills, a desire to develop specialist knowledge, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes in community and outpatient settings.
This is a part-time position working 30 hours, Monday to Friday, with no weekend or Bank Holiday shifts required.
Main duties of the job
As an Adult Continence Band 6 Registered Nurse, you'll be accountable for:
* Delivering safe and effective clinical practice
* Enhancing the patient experience with regular and constructive communication
* Managing and developing the performance of a team of nursing staff
* Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation's objectives
* Efficient and effective use of resources
* Deputising for Senior Continence Nurse and Continence Nurse Manager
* Delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing care tailored to diverse patient needs
* Autonomously assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised care, ensuring best practice and adherence to policies
* Working with patients, carers, and relatives to ensure partnership in care
* Adapting clinical approaches to healthcare challenges
* Working within budget limitations without compromising patient needs
* Recognising and responding to deteriorating patients, escalating concerns as necessary
* Participating in catheter and continence clinics, home and care home assessments to support patient-centered care

Essential requirements include:
* Registered Nurse with NMC
* Substantive community healthcare experience in last 3 years
* Experience with continence assessments in last 3 years
* Full UK driving license and use of a car
* Competence in moving and handling and equipment use
* Post-registration accredited course for the role
* Experience creating education packages and managing junior staff
* Proficiency with continence-related equipment and building therapeutic relationships with challenging behaviour
