Overview
Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager on a permanent basis, based in Midlands.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs aligned with legal requirements, industry standards, and client expectations for Decarbonisation projects across multiple locations (UK and Ireland).
* Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.
* Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring timely corrective actions and continuous improvement.
* Provide expert HSE advice and support to project teams during all phases including design, offsite prefabrication, modularisation, and onsite installation.
* Collaborate closely with HSE officers, operation teams, client representatives, and subcontractors to embed safe working practices and environmental stewardship into daily operations.
* Drive HSE training and awareness programs to build competency and engagement across all teams.
* Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring transparency and effective communication with senior management and stakeholders.
* Facilitate client HSE audits and site visits, acting as the primary point of contact for all health, safety, and environmental matters.
* Support the expansion of HSE best practices as the company grows into new locations and regions within Europe.
Requirements
* 5 years minimum demonstrable experience as an HSE Manager or similar role within construction, mechanical, electrical or energy saving sectors, understanding the unique HSE challenges they present.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, standards, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
* Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or International Diploma and equivalent environmental qualifications.
* Experience in leading, developing, and managing a team of HSE Officers or similar professionals.
* Ability to conduct risk assessments, site inspections, audits, and incident investigations with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Capability to oversee HSE activities across multiple projects and sites in different locations, managing priorities and resources effectively.
