Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our Neuro Rehabilitation team. As an RGN in neuro rehab, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from neurological injuries or conditions, such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support patients' rehabilitation and recovery journey, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver holistic nursing care to neuro rehab patients, assessing, planning, and implementing individual care plans.
* Provide support and assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, and rehabilitation exercises.
* Monitor and manage neurological symptoms, ensuring appropriate interventions and treatments are carried out.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse effects.
* Regularly assess and document patients' progress, providing detailed reports to the care team.
* Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
* Ensure that patients' families are kept informed and involved in their care plans and progress.
* Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families during the rehabilitation process.
* Maintain accurate records of patient care and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
* Respond quickly to any medical emergencies or changes in patients’ conditions.
* Participate in team meetings, continuing professional development, and ongoing training to stay current with neuro rehab nursing practices.
Requirements
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification and active NMC registration.
* Previous experience in neuro rehabilitation nursing or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of neurological conditions, rehabilitation techniques, and care planning.
* Strong clinical skills, with the ability to assess, monitor, and manage complex medical conditions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
* Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
* Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to improving the lives of those with neurological conditions.
* Valid DBS check and up-to-date training in life-saving skills (e.g., basic life support).
