Role: Children’s Support Worker – Days, Full Time

Contract: Permanent · Full Time · 40 hours per week
Salary: £26,312 to £32,219 per annum, dependent on qualifications

What you will do
* Work in a positive, respectful and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and achievements
* Be part of a friendly team to meet social, emotional, educational and well-being needs
* Encourage the involvement of young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care and independence skills
* Update and maintain care plans, review reports and risk assessments; contribute to individual development with a non one-size-fits-all approach
* Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people are respected
* Encourage activities outside the home including social, educational and community engagement
* Foster a supportive, family-like environment and participate in activities that cultivate a sense of belonging
What we look for
* Good understanding of the developmental needs and milestones of young people
* Experience of working with children and families
* Full UK driving licence (manual)
* Ability to communicate, engage and form positive relationships with young people, parent/carers and professionals
* Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records and verbally present information
* Ability to challenge individuals where necessary while remaining calm and objective
* HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification, or the ability to undertake these qualifications

* A starting rate of £12.65 to £15.49 per hour depending on qualifications and location
