Our client is a leading UK self-adhesive label manufacturer for industries across the UK, Europe and beyond.
The company is currently recruiting for Machine Operatives to join their team based in Scotland. This role will be a Permanent position, for the right candidate.
This role is a Rewinding/ Slitting role; however, the client is happy to train candidates up that have Machine Operative experience within a manufacturing background. The main purpose of the role is to take the final printed rolls and perform the final quality control and finishing functions, preparing the roll to Customer Packing Specifications for final shipment to the customers
Responsibilities will include:
1. Locate correct printed reels/ product for inspection relating to individual job cards for
2. inspection along with Print Proofs, Cores, Packaging items and create id Labelling
3. Thread web through machine following correct route, set blades for slitting web to
4. finishing spec
5. Setting of clock / counter for final Rolls
6. Setting of machine tensions for specific materials using controls
7. Visual checks and print fault flags remove waste and poor-quality print
8. Carry out Inspection, Slitting, and rewind of reels to final finishing spec as per job cards
9. correctly identifying core size required
10. Monitor quality and consistency of product, identifying and removing all non-conforming
11. products, set up and in-process waste, and placing into provided bins
12. Packaging of finished reels for dispatch, including marking all boxes with ID Codes, Number of Rolls, to specification detailed on the job ticket
13. Responsible for correct packing for transportation, minimising possibility of damage
14. during transport
15. Ensuring that all operations are carried out and complete necessary paperwork /Job
16. cards completed to ISO standards as outlined in company manuals
17. Operate fully the 100% inspection unit / Fleye vision System when rewinding product
18. Responsibly add operator comments in a professional manner to MIS System if required
19. Working to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality control
20. Responsible for checking other Rewind Inspector's 1st reels
21. Daily checking of guards
22. Maintenance of Blades
23. Calibrate machine to correct core size as cutting
