We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision / PRU in Redbridge. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students who benefit from a tailored and engaging approach to physical education.
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering dynamic and inclusive PE lessons, helping students develop physical fitness, teamwork, resilience, and confidence. You will play a vital role in ensuring that students engage positively in sports and physical activity, supporting their well-being, social development, and mental health.
This position is ideal for an energetic educator who enjoys working in a supportive and student-centred environment. While prior experience in alternative provision, PRUs, or with students with additional needs is desirable, it is not essential, as training and professional development will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to students’ individual abilities and needs.
* Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated and valued.
* Develop structured physical education programmes that promote teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
* Encourage students to participate in a range of sports and activities to improve physical fitness and well-being.
* Implement positive behaviour management strategies to support engagement in physical education.
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external professionals to enhance student development.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting activities where necessary to maximise participation and achievement.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum and effective coaching techniques.
* Experience working in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or with students requiring additional support is desirable but not essential.
* A passion for helping students engage in physical activity as a tool for personal development.
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
