Responsibilities
* Manage the patients clinical workload within the ward areas, including professional supervision of junior medical staff.
* Assess competencies under the MMC framework where appropriate.
* Support the education and training of junior medical staff.
* Record accurately and comprehensively clinical activity.
* Participate in service and business planning activity for the adult services (hospital and community), and for the whole Mental Health Service as appropriate.
* Participate in annual appraisal for consultants.
* Attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
* Participate annually in a job plan review with the Chief Medical Officer, including consultation with a relevant Manager to reflect changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernisation.
* Work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services and contribute to medical management alongside consultant colleagues.
