Job Description
Reporting into the Managing Director and based at the Dudley plant, the Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager will lead a small team of buyers and all supply chain aspects of the business.Day to day responsibility will include:
3. Lead procurement strategy covering sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier selection.
4. Manage and develop the supplier base, ensuring quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
5. Deliver cost‑reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and commercial negotiation.
6. Align purchasing with production, engineering, quality, and project teams to support demand and NPI activity.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry requirements in all purchasing operations.
8. Provide purchasing reporting including supplier performance, spend analysis, and cost‑saving progress.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager should have:Essential
9. A strong CIPS qualification and purchasing experience in manufacturing.
10. Experience of metals and componentry purchasing
11. Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial analysis skills.
12. ERP and Excel proficiency with excellent communication and organisational capability.
Desirable
13. Degree in supply chain, procurement, or business.
14. Experience delivering strategic procurement improvements.
