EHS Specialist (Contract)
We're supporting a regulated life sciences site near Oxford that is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to provide hands-on, onsite support on a short-term contract basis.
Working alongside the site EHS lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and compliant operations across laboratories, facilities, and contractor activities in a fast-moving, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, review, and update risk assessments across laboratory, facility, and construction activities
* Prepare and deliver EHS training for site personnel
* Conduct and review COSHH assessments in line with UK legislation
* Draft, revise, and standardise SOPs to support compliant operations
* Support incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
* Review RAMS and Permits to Work for onsite contractors
* Provide day-to-day EHS guidance and advisory support to operational teams
Requirements
* Proven experience in an EHS advisory or specialist role within a regulated environment (pharma, biotech, laboratories, or similar)
* Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practices
* Confident in producing clear, practical EHS documentation (risk assessments, SOPs, COSHH)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required; NEBOSH Diploma preferred
* Must be able to work fully onsite
