The advertised post is for a consultant diagnostic neuroradiologist at Barts Health NHS Trust following a general increase in workload and as a result of the successful introduction of the 24/7 thrombectomy service in 2021. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our existing team of 18 neuroradiologists to help develop the service and to support the active training program. The post will be based at both The Royal London Hospital and St. Bartholomew's Hospital.
Main Duties
* To support, develop and enhance the Neuroimaging and stroke services at Barts Health NHS Trust, supporting the Neurosciences Directorates.
* To contribute to the high-quality Consultant-led diagnostic Neuroradiology imaging service at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals.
* The annual consultant reporting for the combined Neuroradiology and Head & Neck Radiology service is currently around 13,000 CT and 8,000 MR examinations.
* To support other imaging developments within the Trust.
* To participate in the 1 in 9 neuroradiology on-call rota.
* To provide evidence-based care for all patients.
* To adhere at all times to the appropriate clinical and quality standards.
* To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with colleagues, general practitioners, community services, and all healthcare agencies.
* To maintain and promote team and multidisciplinary work.
* To participate fully in the management of the Departments and to liaise closely with the respective clinical and academic group director and General Manager.
Academic and Professional Credentials (Essential)
* MBBS or equivalent
* FRCR or equivalent
* CCT (or within 6 months of the date of interview) or on specialist register
Desirable Credentials
* MRCP/MRCS
Clinical Expertise (Essential)
* Extensive experience in diagnostic Neuroradiology
* Completion of higher specialist training in neuroradiology
* Participation in incident investigation, simulated patient safety training and training in root cause analysis
