Posts available: 2 x Full time Social Worker posts in the Recruitment and Assessment Team; 1 x Part time Social Worker post in the Recruitment and Assessment Team; 1 x Part time Social Worker post in the Supervision and Support Team. Grade 10 – salary subject to experience.
Dudley Fostering Service is dedicated to recruiting and assessing foster carers to provide a warm and loving home for children in care. The service is based at Cable Plaza Waterfront, Brierley Hill, Dudley, co-located with Children’s Services to support joint working opportunities. Applicants should clearly specify in their application which post they are applying for (Assessment or Supervision and Support).
The Role
We are expanding our Fostering Service and are looking for social workers to help keep children safe, local, happy and reaching their potential. We are hiring 4 experienced Social Workers to assess Mainstream, Kinship foster carers and Special Guardians in the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team, and 1 social worker for the Supervision and Support Team. You will be supported to develop professionally through training and development opportunities and will contribute to delivering high-quality services to foster carers and children in care.
You will be a fully qualified social worker with a minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in statutory social care. Strong skills in assessment and report writing are essential. You will help train and assess new foster carers and be dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families within Dudley. Your manager will provide hands-on support, regular supervision and development opportunities, including involvement with the Fostering National Minimum Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Fully qualified social worker
* Minimum 12 months post-qualification experience in statutory social care
* Strong assessment and report writing skills
* Ability to train and assess new foster carers
* ASYE: Applicants who have not completed ASYE will not be considered; minimum 12 months post-qualification time required
