With plans to see SP Energy Networks (SPEN), part of the ScottishPower Group, look to invest over £5bn in transmission projects across our transmission network in central and southern Scotland by 2030, the Protection, Control and Monitoring team will play a key role in supporting SPEN to work at pace to deliver the transmission network that is required to support ambitions Scottish and UK Government 2030 targets.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our journey as a Lead Engineer (PCM Commissioning) to lead the team and the resource allocation to deliver SPT Major Projects T3 plan.
You will support the PCM Technical Support Manager to manage and improve the commissioning process and ensure the efficient delivery of the full SPT Capital Expenditure plan.
The postholder with have line manager responsibility for 5-6 direct reports.
What you'll be doing
As a Lead Engineer, you will:
* Manage the safety culture, to ensure compliance with all legislation across Substations.
* Provide technical support to a team of Engineers to manage the commissioning process across all SPT Major projects ensure the compliance with STCP 19.4.
* Lead the interfaces with NESO in all Customer connections job ensuring the compliance with STCP 19.3.
* Act as a main point of interface between all stakeholders participating in the commissioning process (SPT Projects, TOps, OCC, Contractors, Users).
* Collaborate with Peers to ensure delivery of operational plans.
* Coach and develop the team to ensure business objectives are met.
* Manage the development of assigned trainees.
* Contribute as an effective member of the Transmission Operations Lead team.
* Lead and develop a team of technical experts to ensure the continued professional development and contribution to the performance of the business.
* Carry out site and operational audits on the team and capture feedback and issues and address any non-conformances.
* Assist SPT Operations in fault restoration, emergency response and black start protocols for the transmission licence.
What you'll bring
As a minimum, candidates must demonstrate:
* Expert knowledge of Commissioning Process including BETTA submissions, STCP 19.3 and 19.4
* Project, contract & SLA management and general commercial & regulatory knowledge.
* Significant operational experience within Transmission systems.
* Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
* Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
* Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
