What does the job involve?
The successful candidate will be required to provide proficient support within the Quality Department, reporting to the Quality Control Manager. Ensuring components are inspected to drawing tolerance, specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by internal and external customer specifications. Ensuring all quality related matters raised at Final Inspection, are highlighted to the Quality Assurance or Engineering Team for resolution as an urgent priority. Maintaining a high-Quality standard of acceptance for all customers to drawing and specification requirements
Hours of work: 39 hours per week.
Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 6.45am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm with 30-minute unpaid break for lunch
Visual / Manual Inspector - What will my responsibilities include?’
1. Visual inspection of mechanical parts and assemblies
2. Use of visual inspection equipment
3. The use of general measuring equipment.
4. Other administration duties relevant to the Quality Department
5. Thread Checking
6. Review incoming Vendor Certifications & Specification requirements
7. Learning calibration processes
8. Willing to carry out a variety of duties
9. Motivated and a self-starter able to work on own initiative
10. Able to work in a team environment or alone
11. Work to a high standard of accuracy
12. An organised and flexible approach to work
13. Ability to effectively manage time to ensure activities are completed within deadlines
14. Liaise confidently with employees at all levels
Visual / Manual Inspector - What key skills and experience do I need?
15. Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential)
16. Previous experience in a similar role
17. Knowledge in the use of manual measuring equipment.
18. Work to a high standard of accuracy.
19. Good attention to detail.
20. Understanding of drawing tolerances & specifications
21. Knowledge of Manual Inspection processes (Desirable)
Visual / Manual Inspector - What qualifications should I have?
22. Basic O’ Level / GCSE Qualifications, technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ).
23. Proficient in the use of I.T software including Word & Excel
24. Full Apprenticeship / time served in machining, or relevant skills applicable to the role (Desirable)
25. Security Clearance (Desirable)
