3. Lead and oversee technical financial operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
4. Develop and implement financial strategies to support organisational goals and objectives.
5. Provide expert advice on financial management and reporting to senior stakeholders.
6. Manage the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
7. Support the organisation in achieving value for money across all financial activities.
8. Ensure effective risk management and internal control procedures are in place.
9. Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, promoting professional growth and development.
10. Collaborate with external auditors and other relevant bodies to ensure transparency and accountability.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Finance should have:
11. A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
12. Proven expertise in technical financial management and reporting within the public sector.
13. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
