Admin & Clerical Officer (Band 2)
Location: Bangor / Ards
Duration: June – September
Hours: 37.5 hours Monday-Friday
Pay: £12.71 per hour
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an Administrative & Clerical Officer to join our public service client in the Bangor / Ards area. This is a fast paced, patient facing administrative role, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment and has strong organisational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Handling multiple incoming calls and patient queries in a call centre-style office
✔ Inputting and updating patient data across electronic systems (e.g., Epic, PAS, Patient Centre)
✔ Scanning, uploading, and maintaining accurate electronic records
✔ Managing own workload, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines
✔ Liaising with clinical and administrative teams
✔ Providing general office support: email management, photocopying, filing, reception cover
✔ Meeting and greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
✔ Directing patients to the appropriate departments or services
✔ Managing front desk/reception area, ensuring it remains organised and welcoming
✔ Handling face-to-face patient enquiries and assisting with appointment check-ins
Essential Criteria
Candidates must meet at least ONE of the qualification/experience pathways:
Option A
1. 4 GCSEs Grade A-C including English
2. 1 year administrative/clerical experience
Option B
3. NVQ Level 2 in Administration (or equivalent)
4. 1 year administrative/clerical experience
Option C
5. 2 years administrative/clerical experience (no formal qualifications required)
Additional Essential Requirements
6. 1 year word processing experience
7. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
8. Strong communication and organisational skills
9. Ability to work under pressure in a busy office
10. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
