The role of Support Staff in our Primary settings across Cheshire East focuses on supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and development across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working on an ad hoc basis across multiple classroom environments. Working alongside teachers and school staff, the role involves helping children to access learning through individual, small-group, and whole-class support, encouraging confidence, independence, and positive relationships. Support Staff may assist with activities such as reading, writing, mathematics, and practical learning, help children to understand instructions and stay engaged, and provide reassurance and guidance where needed. The role also includes helping to create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment, supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural needs, preparing resources, supervising children during lessons and transitions, and sharing observations with teaching staff, always placing the needs, safety, and wellbeing of children at the centre of practice.
Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.
We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;
1. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
2. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
3. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
4. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
5. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
15. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
16. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
17. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
18. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
19. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
