Title: Senior Designer (Roofing & Cladding) Location: Aztec West Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 Sector: Roofing & Cladding projects Start Date: ASAP Senior Designer - Roofing & Cladding - The Role: * You’ll deliver a project to completion whilst maintaining a high standard of quality and within company standards. Using AutoCad,or Revit you’ll produce 2D drawings / 3D models for use by our construction team and client approval as well as checking the quality assurance of others work to ensure uniformity and accuracy What will I do? * Safety, Health and Environment – Visibly lead the culture of health, safety and environmental protection through safety excellence and ensuring that we meet statutory obligations and industry standards to minimise risk, prevent incidents and protect the bus iness. * Drawings – Complete 2D drawing designs using either Autocad or Revit with minimal assistance. * 3D Modelling – Complete 3D models to aid the delivery of 2D information and material schedules within Revit. * Material Schedules – Calculate quantities of materials and produce accurate itemised lists for procurement. * Technical Document Packages – Obtain product data sheets and technical information for inclusion into a one document library of information for the main contractor. * Portal Management – Have responsibility for the uploading and downloading of information as necessary from the client’s portal and our own internal document management system (BIM360). * Submittal of Requests for Information – Responsibility for the issuing and recording of information request to the client and our supply chain. * Issue of Project Documentation – Responsible for efficient collation, issue and sign-off of project documentation such as system calculations, samples and technical documents for approval by the client. * Quality Assurance Process – Check others material schedules and drawing output against Standards to ensure uniformity and accuracy. * BIM Compliance – Ensure that all project documentation is in accordance with the project BEP / Standards. * Design Meetings – Take the lead role in project design team meetings. * Key Project Documentation – Issue and monitoring of key project documents such as constraints lists and delay notices. * Programming – Produce and monitor project programs to ensure realist timeframes are adhered to. * Team Leader – To assist the Design Manager in the overseeing of other designers working on your project * Training – Aid in the upskilling of other team members through your acquired knowledge and skills. * Tender Documentation – Assist the cost planning department with design input on tender packages for potential future works. The Person: Senior Designer - Roofing & Cladding: Essential: * You will need to be efficient in the use of Autocad, Microsoft office and document management systems. * Be able to provide examples of project deliverables from past roofing and cladding projects and have a working knowledge of UK BIM protocol. * Have a keen interest in the use of 3D modelling and future growth of the design department. * Be experienced in the design of composite, built up, and rainscreen wall and roof systems, flat roofing, structural framing design and have experience in working on both residential and commercial projects. * You will have a base knowledge of BIM Protocol (ISO19650) * An understanding of industry regulations and guidance documents. Desirable: * You’ll have experience in the use of Revit to deliver both 2D and 3D design on a project level, BIM360,. * As well as project management, programming, and leading a team. * A history of working on projects of a technical or complex nature would be considered advantageous
