Assistant Financial Accountant (Hybrid) – Leeds (LS15) Location: Thorpe Park, Leeds (Hybrid working model) Function: Group Finance Type: Full-time
At Hain, we are currently recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team at our Thorpe Park, Leeds office. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility with a mix of office and remote working.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or progress their career in finance while studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA). You'll gain hands-on experience in a supportive team environment and exposure to key financial processeas across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and reconcile bank accounts for all UK entities
2. Reconcile stock accounts across UK divisions and investigate any discrepancies
3. Support with monthly accruals and prepayments
4. Post and reconcile intercompany recharges
5. Monitor and manage logistics spend
6. Maintain Capital Expenditure (Capex) forms using Smartflow
7. Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts
8. Investigate and resolve balance sheet variances
9. Prepare documentation to support Audit and SOX compliance
10. Provide cover for cashier responsibilities, including:
Uploading payments to the bank
Processing credit and debit notes
Allocating payments
11. Administer company credit cards and post related journals
12. Support with ad hoc tasks and projects as required
What We’re Looking For:
13. A motivated individual currently studying or planning to study for an accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
14. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
15. Good Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems (experience with Smartflow is a plus)
16. Strong communication and organisational skills
17. Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team
