Accounts Assistant

About the company:
A global SME, with an office in Macclesfield, and a great small office environment. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this broad and hands-on role will be around 75% finance-facing, 25% admin-facing.
Responsibilities include:
* Purchase ledger management.
* Downloading weekly bank balances and preparing Weekly Cashflow Reports.
* Recording of supplier payments on Sage.
* Reconciling bank and cash accounts.
* Preparing and processing expenses.
* Running and managing the small payroll function.
* Assisting with accruals, prepayments and journals.
* Assisting in the preparation of quarterly financial reports and reconciliations.
* Raising intercompany invoices.
* Maintaining a small fixed asset and depreciation register.
* Answering the office telephone, filtering telephone calls and dealing with general enquiries. NB: low call volumes.
* Monitoring and management of email inboxes.
* Collecting statistics and administration of the statistics spreadsheets.
* Collecting post from the main office building and from a second office building (within walking distance).
* Preparing shareholder reports for the Board packs.
* Ad hoc administrative support to the Executive Chairman, Managing Director and Project Manager as required.
* Managing the office stationery.
Skills/Qualifications required:
* Previous finance experience
* Previous experience in a similar SME environment a bonus
* Previous experience of multi-currency a bonus
* Self-starter, capable of a hands-on role
* Eye for detail
* Good time-management and organisational skills
