Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Behaviour Mentor to work with students aged 14 and above. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, promoting positive behaviour management strategies, and fostering a supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students with SEMH needs, helping them develop coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and positive behaviour patterns. Implement individualized behaviour plans and interventions tailored to the needs of each student, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders. Establish positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to facilitate effective behaviour management and academic progress. Monitor and track student progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions, maintaining accurate records and documentation. Collaborate with teaching staff to identify triggers for challenging behaviour and develop proactive strategies to prevent and address issues. Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies as needed to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students' SEMH needs. Requirements: Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting. Strong understanding of behaviour management principles and strategies, including positive behaviour support techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively de-escalate challenging situations. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of students. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing situations. Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning in the field of SEMH support and behaviour management.
