We are looking for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist to join our established team.
This post will be based at Morriston Hospital and will be primarily aligned to the General Anaesthetic service. It will include covering lists in the Centre of Excellence for Orthopaedics and Spinal at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and the Singleton Centre of Excellence for Planned Care.
There will also be the opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake a variety of other subspecialty elective work through flexible sessions.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of emergency and elective general anaesthesia to the population of SBUHB within scope of practice reflected in provisional 'Job Plan' (please see Job Description)
Out of hours work in the first instance will likely comprise of resident weekend CEPOD or MSK Trauma days, subject to service requirement (10- 12hrs) at a frequency no more than 1:8. Joining the 'General on call' rota will be considered, subject to service requirements.
As a locum job, a proposed job plan will be negotiated on successful appointment. We aim, but cannot guarantee, to provide a reasonable split of fixed and flexible working. This will be subject to service requirements and by the nature of the post is likely to encompass more flexible working than fixed.

Qualifications
* Registered with the GMC
* Licensed to practice
* CCT in Anaesthesia (or expected within 6 months of interview) or on Specialist Register with GMC (or expected within 6 months of interview)
* Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education
Experience
* Evidence of an ability to develop effective working relationships, on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis with all levels of staff
* Evidence of working with management and clinical colleagues to improve a service
* Values partnership with other agencies
* Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff
* Evidence of initiating, progressing and completing audit
