About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. Working closely with our General Ledger and Treasury Manager, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day financial operations and support the preparation of accounts up to trial balance. We believe in the power of collaboration, this role requires a minimum of three days a week in the office, fostering teamwork, learning, and shared success.
What you'll do
* Supporting month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, payroll costs, and fixed asset entries.
* Preparing accurate balance sheet reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.
* Producing timely, accurate financial information and assisting with audit schedules and statutory account preparation.
* Collaborating with finance and operational teams to ensure compliance and data integrity.
* Applying a keen eye for detail and strong Excel skills to maintain high-quality reporting.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
* Solid understanding of general accountancy principles and procedures.
* Experience reconciling control accounts and preparing accounts to trial balance.
* Strong Excel and IT skills (familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable).
* Knowledge or experience of the care sector is an advantage
