🚨 Senior Quantity Surveyor – Rail Infrastructure
We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major rail programme focused on modernising signalling infrastructure across multiple control periods. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be working closely with project teams, managing costs, budgets and risk, while also acting as a key interface with both internal stakeholders and customers.

What you’ll be doing:
1. Managing the commercial side of various work packages (Design, Installation, Civils, Materials, Power, Telecoms, etc.)
2. Overseeing change control, cost forecasting and budget management
3. Supporting project and engineering managers with contractual/commercial matters
4. Preparing cost/value reports and ensuring financial controls are in place
5. Identifying and mitigating risks within work packages
6. Producing reports and ensuring compliance with company standards
7. Building strong relationships with finance, engineering, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
What we’re looking for:
8. Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator experience on the contractor side
9. Background in rail, construction, or engineering projects
10. Degree qualified (or equivalent), ideally working towards RICS/ICES or similar
11. Solid track record managing subcontract and direct labour costs
12. Skilled in estimating change/variations, forecasting and measuring progress
13. Strong contractual knowledge and commercial awareness
14. Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
15. Self-driven, able to work under pressure and manage expectations
