As an Accounts Assistant at Henry Boot PLC, you will play a key role in supporting the Group Finance Department by processing and maintaining the purchase ledger for various group companies. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team, where your attention to detail and proactive approach will help ensure the smooth running of our finance operations.

Main Responsibilities

* Processing and coding supplier invoices for group companies.
* Entering supplier invoices and credit notes into the accounting system.
* Data input and maintenance of purchase ledger records.
* Liaising with colleagues internally and suppliers externally to resolve queries.
* Ensuring correct approval is obtained for purchase invoices and payments.
* Preparation of payment runs for group companies.
* Reconciliation of purchase ledger balances.
* Providing detailed account information to auditors as required.
* Filing, scanning, and maintaining accurate records.
* Maintenance of daily cash books and daily bank reconciliation.
* Preparation of daily cash figures.
* Assisting in the preparation and production of regular and ad-hoc reports and spreadsheets.
* Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
* Observing strict confidentiality and representing the best interests of Henry Boot Group at all times.
* Providing cover for other team members as needed.


Qualifications and Experience Required

* Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role is desirable but not essential.
* Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work accurately and efficiently with data input and financial records.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Good communication skills for liaising with colleagues and suppliers.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
* Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues.
* Commitment to confidentiality and high standards of integrity.
