Overview
The team operates over 24 hours, 7 days a week, on a 12‑hour shift pattern. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to junior team members, prioritise the workload and utilise resources appropriately to ensure service user needs are met. The team is also responsible for gate‑keeping admissions to the acute admission wards.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and support to junior staff.
* Prioritise workload and manage resources to meet service user needs.
* Act as gatekeeper for admissions to acute wards.
* Deliver crisis intervention services for individuals presenting with a mental health crisis, offering an alternative to admission.
* Conduct assessments and maintain accurate written records.
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and engage in regular supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
* Band 6 post open to registered nurses, occupational therapists and social workers with current registration with the NMC, HCPC or SWE.
* Minimum 18 months post‑qualifying experience, including sign‑off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
* Highly motivated, able to act on own initiative and possess sound assessment and written skills.
Additional Information
The successful candidate must be able to travel independently across the locality and possess a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
